Myersville Growth and Infrastructure Plan Highlights
Myersville, valued under 15000, shows 42 percent population growth from 1950 to 1960, exceeding the state 31.2 percent. From 1960 to now, 62 residents have moved in. Water comes mainly from Catoctin Creek tributaries. future needs require expansion of filtration. The plan urges immediate sewage disposal consideration, land annexation, septic tank elimination, and a loop system with phased interceptor sewers along Grindstone Run. With Interstate 70 open, arterial roads should be designed and streets improved. Proposes a central shopping area near Elerton Road, Main Street, and Poplar Road, a four-acre highway service site, and 35-acre industrial parks farther from major roads to cut traffic risk.

Tumor Might Have Fueled Whitman Rampage
A panel of medical experts in Austin concluded Charles J. Whitman likely had a deadly brain tumor at the time of his August 1 shooting spree. The 1 inch tumor could not explain the killings alone, but might have contributed to emotional impairment. The group noted no evidence of drug use on the day of death and reserved formal psychiatric diagnosis due to lack of a recent interview. Whitman, 24, was slain by police on the University of Texas Tower observation deck after a 90 minute attack.
