250th Frederick County Anniversary Grand Parade Delights Crowds
Bertha Kennedy recalled 69 years of parades as the 250th Frederick County Anniversary Grand Parade drew about 20,000 spectators. The 18 mile event featured 136 entries including 40 horses and mules, 37 floats, 20 wagons and carriages, and notable displays from Brunswick, a waving flag float with Key statue, a Betsy Ross scene, a steam engine encore, and a Marine Corps tank. Emergency crews treated heat related incidents for about 20 cases including a fainting twirler. Continued on Page A-8.
