Teen injured in Md. 464 single vehicle crash

A Frederick teenager Shasta Troupe 17 was injured in a Thursday evening single vehicle crash on Md 464 near Rusherman Road. She attempted to pass a car, braked, lost control, and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to overturn. Rescuers freed her from the wreckage and she was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

Three Hurt In Two Vehicle Crash On U S 40 A

Maryland State Police reported three people injured in a Thursday night crash on U S 40 A at Mount Tabor Road. John Hobson 19 of Knoxville suffered a severe thumb laceration while exiting the wreckage. His brother Kenneth 24 and Laurie Robertson 18 of Keedysville were also treated. van driver Brian Mock 20 of Sharpsburg refused treatment and faced a charge of failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

Rain drenches Florida as Jerry traces paths after deluge

The Frederick area reports no rain since August 12 with 2.02 inches total for the month. July heat lingered into early August with a 98 degree high on August 4 and a stretch of 90s from August 12 to 21. The coolest night was August 27 at 53 degrees. The Hagerstown Almanack predicts above average temperatures and below average precipitation in September, cautioning about possible frost after October 10.

Assault victim flown to trauma center near Frederick

Roger Lynn Baker a 34 year old Clear Spring man remained in critical condition after an apparent assault Thursday night at John Hanson Apartments Frederick City Police said he was found unconscious and bleeding and was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Baltimore. Police continue investigation.
