Former math teacher and community college leader Luttrell enters the District 3 race as a committee-appointed challenger to incumbent Derr. He cites budget deficits, crime, and growth as key issues, advocates education and policing, and pledges greater voter accessibility and a business-friendly Maryland.
Parshioners of the First Love Fellowship Church in Frederick built a 14 foot lighted angel from chicken wire and linen to offer a positive alternative to scary decorations. The three foot off the ground figure, with blue eyes and a sword of lights, carries a Jesus is Lord banner. Neighbors praise its artistic message for children.
Frederick widow and civic leader Mrs Hanna active in many groups including the Maryland State Association of School Library Clubs and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
