Frederick County Seeks Voice on Virginia Western Bypass Route
Frederick County Commissioners refused to take a stand on Virginia’s proposed western bypass around Washington but stated they want input if the project proceeds. They favor an eastern route, noting past opposition and citing a $1.7 billion cost with a potential Point of Rocks crossing to connect with I-70 and US 340. The state SHA and MDOT discuss plans with meetings set for Winchester Hall on November 3 and a council of governments workshop on November 9.
