Frederick County OKs third lien on loan for ice rink expansion
Frederick County Commissioners authorized a 1.5 million dollar loan from F and M Bank to expand the Frederick Sport and Ice Arena adding a second rink. The loan places bank ahead of the county city and SBA in repayment if default occurs. Lehigh seeks to expand shale mining near Walkersville
Lehigh Port land Cement Co applies for state permits to extend shale mining on a 69 acre tract south of Daysville Road about a mile from Md 19. Mining would run 1996 to 2020 with blasts twice a month and trucks moving shale to the Woodsboro plant. Maryland teen sought in Maryland counselor stabbing heads for Black Hills
A 16 year old Maryland boy Benjamin Garris and his 15 year old girlfriend may be en route to Rapid City South Dakota after the October 8 stabbing death of Sharon Edwards a counselor at a psychiatric hospital near Baltimore Investigators found a map with Nemo area campground in his locker and his mother signed him out of a group home shortly before the crime. Local authorities issued a release stating the pair could be headed toward the Black Hills and no sightings were reported by Sioux Falls police or the Rapid City FBI office.
