A 50 dollar guitar was grabbed from a 14 year old by five teens on East Patrick Street while he waited for a ride home. The group fled south on Market Street toward All Saints Street after the theft occurred near 8:30 p.m. Police described the suspects as teen agers.

Grandmother Rescues Child From Kidnappers
Thurmont grandmother Mrs. Mabel Ohler rescued her grandson Douglas Carroll Favorite from two unidentified assailants at her home. A man came to the door at 11 am asking about the fruit stand. when refused, he seized the boy. A woman later demanded a coat for the child, then both left after Ohler struck the woman and freed the boy. Police investigate.
