Minnie M Davis 65 of 422 N Market St Frederick died Oct 23 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a longtime member of First Missionary Baptist Church singing in the gospel chorus. Surviving are children John Valerie Fred, Carolyn Jackson Laurel, Jack Thomas Colorado Springs, Joseph Thomas Frederick and numerous relatives. Visitation at the church Oct 26 6 8 pm with family 7 8 pm. Funeral at 11 am Oct 27 at the church officiated by Rev William Graham. Arrangements Gary L Rollins Funeral Home. Rev Vernon E Firme 73 of 503 S Potomac St Waynesboro Pa died Oct 24 at home. He married Helen Hansen Furme Sept 25 1943. Born Feb 5 1922 in Random Lake Wis he held degrees from Mission House College and Lancaster Theological Seminary and was ordained Oct 27 1946. He served multiple churches including San Francisco Houston Philadelphia Spring City Sabillasville Cascade and others. retired Oct 1987. Memorial service 2 pm Oct 27 at Evangelical Lutheran Church Waynesboro with two ministers officiating. Interment at Brownbacks United Church of Christ Cemetery Spring City Pa. Donations to Lancaster Theological Seminary. Grove Funeral Home Waynesboro in charge.
