Federal regulators disclosed loan denial rates showing Blacks and Hispanics face higher conventional mortgage rejections than whites and Asian Americans. Among 6.4 million applications to 9,300 lenders, denials ranged 33.9 percent for Blacks, 24.2 percent for Hispanics, 22.4 percent for American Indians, versus 14.4 percent for whites and 12.9 percent for Asian Americans, with income-adjusted gaps.
