Oil Diversions Slow Domestic Supply Amid Iran Crisis
The article details U S and world oil reallocations to ease shortages. It notes 200000 barrels daily diverted to Europe, later cut to zero for the year, plus Middle Eastern and Venezuelan increases of 270000 barrels daily and European allocations reducing demand by 75000 barrels daily. Eastern Hemisphere refineries could add 195000 barrels daily, and the U S would supply 190000 barrels daily of refined products through December, drawing on American reserves as Iranian tensions impact prices and stockpiles.
