Two Bids Rejected for City Fire House Addition
Only two proposals were submitted for the city's fire house addition funded by the Public Works Administration. The Board of Aldermen rejected all bids saying costs far exceeded estimates, with base bids from L J. Heller and Sons of Jefferson at 12345 dollars and Hahn and Fulmer at 718 dollars, plus three alternates that could have reduced the Keller bid. Mayor Lloyd C. Culler said the city cannot provide the extra funds, and plans may be readvertised after revisions.
