Five scientists win Nobels in science
Five U S scientists won Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry awarded in Stockholm for research done up to three decades ago. The physics laureates Robert Laughlin Horst Stormer and Daniel Tsui showed electrons can behave as a quantum fluid. chemistry laureates Walter Kohn and John Pople developed computer methods to model molecular bonds and reactions. Each prize is worth 978000 dollars to be shared.
