Five Japanese Planes Shot Down in China
Five Japanese war planes were brought down during air raids on Nanking and nearby cities. Three were shot down over Nanking in dog fights with Chinese aircraft, two by pursuit planes at Chinkiang. Twenty four Japanese aircraft took part in the raid on Nanking. bombers attacked Soochow and Chinkiang but were repelled. Dense smoke indicated hits on arsenals and airdromes. Also, prices of American automobiles will rise next season by 15 to 100 dollars due to higher production costs.
