The Frederick County jail saw heating restored around 8 o clock Friday night after fall repairs and relocation of boiler and radiators. Sheriff Roy M Hiltner said he had not yet observed the new system in action, while the County Commissioners noted it was working satisfactorily. The project, handled by Wilsons Stove House, included a concrete floor over the old wooden left side. Prisoners once crowded the jail as cases await Circuit Court action, five were sentenced Friday and moved to the House of Correction and penitentiary.

New Garbage Trucks Reach City From Oshkosh
Frederick received two new garbage trucks after a four day run from Oshkosh Wisconsin. City Register Louis Eichelberger and disposal plant supervisor Arthur Culler brought them back with Eichelberger's son Louis Jr. They traveled at 25 mph to start and about 30 mph toward the end, pausing briefly in Washington Pennsylvania to observe similar trucks in action.

All sections can now connect with the Frederick sanitary sewer system. About 100 properties are connected. City Attorney Edward J. Etchison, 82, escaped serious injury though shaken, as did four others. no charges were filed. Driver Charles L. Cook cited a broken brake rod as cause, while Woodrow Yates and passengers were left with a left side collapse and a missing wheel. Yates took responsibility for damages.
