Huntington Amendment Persists In Episcopal Canon Debate
At San Francisco on Oct. 11 the Episcopal church convention advanced technical portions of the marriage and divorce canon yet failed to settle the crucial fourth section forbidding divorcee marriages. A constitutional amendment favoring modified worship surfaced, pledging no form of worship to conflict with canons, while Rev. E Winchester Donald claimed ordination not needed for holy communion. The bishops focused on Filipino and Caribbean missionary bishoprics, with candidates to be voted on tomorrow.
