Master Plan Presented For Carroll County
A Carroll County master plan was discussed by the county commissioners and Planning and Zoning Commission led by E Miller Richardson. George Grier presented the plan, distributing copies and urging swift committee review to finalize for public presentation. Plans mentioned East-West Expressway from Roop's Mill to Hagerstown next year, and a North-West Expressway in 1965 from Dorsey Cross Roads to Washington. Taneytown was the first district to review. May or Raymond Perry urged progress as the CHURCH CLUB MEETS at Calvary Methodist Church covered events and upcoming fundraisers, a wedding reception, rummage sale, and a November dinner, followed by a surprise shower for Mrs Ray Frank. Army MSG James F Miller, from Thurmont, partook in Exercise THUNDER at Fort Hood, Texas with the 2d Armored Division. his unit acted as aggressors during the four-day field maneuver. Miller, a platoon sergeant in Company C, 1st Battalion of the 13th Armor, is the son of Earl E Miller of Hagerstown, who enlisted in December 1942.
