Melvin Gilbert 41 of Woodsboro, also known as George Melvin Gilbert, was sentenced by Judge Patrick Schnauffer to six years in the Maryland penitentiary after pleading guilty to grand larceny. He was previously convicted on burglary and related charges after an incident at the Smith home in Woodsboro on June 25.
