Heritage Weekend attracts 3000 in Middletown Birthday celebration draws crowd
About 3000 people lined Main Street in Middletown for Heritage Weekend and the town's 250th birthday celebration. A parade with 50 plus entries including volunteer fire companies and high school bands drew families as Civil War re enactors fired muskets. Organizers, led by Cathy Gannon, noted community unity and said the festival, the eighth, cost about $9000 funded by T shirts souvenirs and artisan fees.
