Mass executions of civilians found near Seoul reported
An American officer described a Red Army mass grave near Yangyang, 36 miles east of Seoul, with about 700 civilians killed between Sept 23 and 29. Witness Kim Chin Sin named policemen and nationalist youth among the victims. Bodies of 1,100 earlier slain Koreans were found in Taejon and 127 in Seoul. Officers warned of potential retaliation.
