Environment group attacks Bartlett record
An environmental group accused 6th District candidate Roscoe Bartlett of providing tenants with dirty tap water and skirting safe drinking water laws at a Frederick County farm. Bartlett denied the charges and said he fixed the wells after a threat of court action. Clean Water Action endorsed Democrat Thomas Hattery and criticized Bartlett as neglecting public health laws.

COLLEGE PARK AP Police will boost weekend patrols in College Park to curb violent brawls like the early Sunday melee between two University of Maryland fraternities. Lt. Colvin noted no arrests despite the seriousness. Up to 100 fraternity members fought at 2:30 a.m., drawing over 30 patrol cars from five departments as the incident unfolded after a dispute over taunting a fraternity member and his date.
