Solar homes hide large living space at Viewsite Estates
Two small looking solar homes at Viewsite Estates conceal nearly 3000 square feet of living space with greenhouses at the rear for light and heat. Front porch vents adjust to pull in outside air for cooling or heating. The design hides three bedrooms, up to three bathrooms, and three living areas on separate levels. Similar units will be built at a Thurmont subdivision by Roscoe Bartlett.

Maintaining Railings and Metal Windows Before Painting
A guide explains preparing metal railings and ornamental ironwork before painting. Remove rust, dirt, and oil with brushes and sandpaper, then apply surface conditioner and metal primer. Choose nylon brushes for water based paint or bristle for oil based. Use appropriate brush sizes for touching up, trim, woodwork, walls, and siding. Painting time about three hours for average railing.
