Citizens Nursing Home public critique of Medicaid changes
Citizens Nursing Home board condemns the new Medicaid funding plan set to take effect July 1, 1983. The four level pay system, flat rates of 42.30 and 45.45 per day, plus an 8.75 add-on for necrotic ulcers, risks reduced care for light and moderate patients and higher administrative burdens due to paperwork. Board members warn Citizens may lose over 100000 yearly if current patient mix persists.

Frederick County and Washington County commissioners debate funding for an EMS ALS training coordinator. Washington will provide 5000 dollars.
