Major issues loom as wage price controls end
NEA Washington Correspondent reports controls expire April 30 1953 placing policy decisions on the new president and Congress. With price and wage regimes fraying and rent and some goods decontrolled, business pressure grows to lift all controls while deferring expansion of local and national oversight. The wage stabilisation board and allocation authorities face impending sunset and political shifts may redefine anti inflation strategy.
