Watersheds 10 Be Purchased Near Fishing Creek
The city plans to buy about 000 acres of watershed near the Fishing Creek reservoir. The measure will be presented to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen at tonight's regular semi monthly meeting. An agreement is reported to have been reached to finalize the purchase at the meeting. The acquisition would strengthen the water supply by securing watershed land adjacent to the source. Mayor and Aldermen will also meet Harry B. Shaw, newly appointed City Engineer from Hyattsville. Routine business includes street and sewer repairs and signs, park improvements, and water main leak tests to be completed soon, according to Max Fishstein of Philadelphia.

Maniac Bandit Escapes Spring Grove Hospital Twice
Ronald Harris, the so called maniac bandit, fled Spring Grove Hospital near Catonsville with fellow patient Henry Rawlings. Guards discovered the escape ten minutes later and authorities launched a statewide search with road blocks and shoot on sight orders if Harris threatened. Harris had previously escaped in 1924 from a penitentiary term for burglary and armed assault.
