Edward Rogers alias James Demy pleaded in Erie Pa that he killed James Hoban in Baltimore four years ago. He described a years long spree of flight and public shame, driven by hallucinations and fear of arrest, ending with his surrender in Erie after a nationwide wanderer tale. He will stand trial for the murder on the night of November 24, 1897.
