Fireproof cigarette idea flares in Atlantic City
Charles Cohn, 77, claims his Colite coated cigarette cuts tar and nicotine by about 25 percent during puffing and 65 percent in sidestream smoke. The device cools the burn, reduces ash, and supposedly won’t ignite skin or fabrics. Despite patent 4,044,778 and 35 other patents, tobacco firms and regulators have largely ignored the concept.
