Federal milk orders regulate interstate market flows
Federal legislation authorizing milk marketing orders limits their reach to handling of milk in or affecting interstate commerce. Interstate milk trade has expanded due to nationwide markets and tech changes. Prices for fluid milk influence distant markets and manufactured dairy product prices across state lines, risking price competition in surplus periods.

Directed Method Takes Risk Out Of Corn Spray
A Farm Journal report describes directed spraying to place weed killer on weeds rather than corn. Apply when corn is 15 to 20 inches high and weeds under eight inches, using Linaron or a dala pon and 2 4 D mix. The method lets growers adjust 2 4 D to suit weed pressure and avoids crop damage. Irvin gton Valdessa Frances 3 575986, a ten year old, owned by James W. King, Gaithersburg, produced 18233 lbs of milk and 693 lbs of butterfat in 365 days.

Nicotine Use Boosts Lean Pig Growth Aboard Farm Journal
Canadian scientists report nicotine sulfate in pig feed increases lean tissue and lowers fat, at about three cents per ton of feed. For 50 hogs, potential savings of 7.50 to 20 in feed with 39 cents cost. A 25 cent premium per hundredweight could add 2.50 to 10 in revenue by more No. 1 grade hogs. Feeding nicotine not FDA approved. Maple Lawn herd records: Sparkler 4619333 produced 18,396 lb milk and 741 lb butterfat in 293 days.
