Gaithersburg man arrested for co worker murder

A 33 year old Gaithersburg man Joseph Nathan Bellamy was arrested Saturday by Montgomery County Police for the May 13 murder of Frances Sartoph Binick. Binick was found dead at about 2 05 a m in her Gaithersburg townhouse. Bellamy, a coworker at Grendel Used Office Supply, had been paroled last year and had a prior 1984 rape and robbery conviction in New York City. He confessed and is held without bond, charged with first degree murder.

Traffic lighter than expected despite D C street closing

Washington drivers faced lighter traffic on the first business day after Pennsylvania Avenue near the White House was closed to vehicles. A one hour federal worker grace period and police directing traffic helped flow as President Clinton ordered the street closure.
