Frederick Community Chorus Performs The Creation at Hood
More than five hundred townspeople fill Brodbeck Hall on the Hood campus Sunday evening to hear the Frederick Community Chorus sing The Creation with two Washington soloists. Dr. Earle B. Blakeslee directs the group and also led last winter’s Messiah. Mrs. Blakeslee sings the Creation soprano, with Mrs. J. D. Duve as contralto and George Barritt and John Yard, both of Washington, as tenor and bass. William Sprigg accompanies the soloists, and Mrs. W. L. Blair plays for the choral numbers. Reverend W. DeWitt Dickey offers remarks on the oratorio’s Genesis and Paradise Lost basis during intermission. John Shorrow, chorus president, thanks Dr. Blakeslee and presents a gift to him.
