Montgomery lowers 2 taxes and restores budget funds
ROCKVILLE The Montgomery County Council voted to cut two taxes and restore 12.7 million to the operating budget aiming to override the 1.6 billion spending affordability limit. A Tuesday override vote needs seven of nine members. The panel rejected a homeowners tax credit while approving modest energy and container tax cuts costing 7.3 million, with mixed support on impact to small businesses.
