Court upholds term for man guilty of sex abuse of sheep
Maryland's second highest court upheld the two year prison term for Emmitsburg resident Richard Eugene Schwarzmann. Convicted of attempted sodomy and related charges after an April 1990 arrest at Rose Hill Manor Children’s Museum, the sentences of eight years with most suspended were imposed in 1991. The court merged two counts but left the cruelty to animals charge separate, noting no legislative intent to double punish for the overlapping acts. Schwarzmann faces a later District Court hearing on 1991 charges of sex offenses and child abuse.
