Sugar Ray Robinson of New York retained his world middleweight title by knocking out ex-champion Carl Olson of San Francisco in the fourth round at Wrigley Field. Olson pressured early, landing a few blows, but Robinson answered with lethal power, securing his fourth win and third knockout over Olson in a series dating back to 1950.
