Truman's Expendable Economist Joins Council of Economic Advisers
Roy Blough named to President Truman's Council of Economic Advisers vows to quit if not productive and argued the council should be independent of political pressure. He warned the institution could be expendable, suggesting future shifts in how economic advice is organized. Blough, former head of treasury tax research and ex-University of Chicago economist, signals potential tax expertise to address tax reform and policy gaps.
