War Fraud Action Promised by Attorney General Daugherty
Washington May 10 Attorney General Daugherty told lawmakers that the Justice Department will energetically prosecute war fraud cases, despite limited funds and staff. He valued potential recoveries in hundreds of pending cases at about 100 million dollars and urged thorough, non partisan investigations. President Harding asked governors to proclaim National Disabled Soldiers Week May 28 to June 3, with broad participation from veteran groups.
