Frederick Watershed food plots aid gobblers
Monocacy Valley Chapter volunteers with Ben Smith seed, fertilize, and dress about five acres of clover and oats plots on the Frederick Watershed. New boating rule requires life jackets for all on board
Starting this month vessels under 16 feet must have a wearable Coast Guard approved life jacket for each person on board. Seat cushions no longer substitute for a jacket. National Resources Police say most boating fatalities come from drowning and stress safety, with nearly 1,900 citations last year for insufficient life jackets. The 13th annual Red N Reel Captains Pro Am Fishing Tournament runs today and Sunday with prizes for top striped bass and bluefish, plus a $10,000 bonus if the grand prize striped bass breaks Maryland records. Contact Fred Donovan for details and entry fees at Rod N Reel Dock Chesapeake Beach MD 20732 1 800 233 2080.
