City Real Estate Tax To Remain At 1 65
Frederick Mayor E Paul Magaha announced the city tax rate will stay at 1 65 per 100 of assessed valuation for the coming fiscal year. Aldermen directed City Atty Richard R Burgee to draft ordinances for the rate budget and county property assessments for the May 19 Board of Equalization and Review meeting. The current budget exceeds 2 million dollars, with 1 762 437 in the general fund and 488 800 in water and sewer. Other actions included approving a water tap for a new Frederick County National Bank branch, meters installed to date, contracts for chemical purchases totaling 21 713 86, permission for the Key Post American Legion parade on May 30, and bills paid of 10 176 55. 141 Cong Killed In Viet Battle
In central Viet Nam fierce fighting raged as American air cavalrymen closed in on a trapped Communist battalion. U S spokesmen reported 141 Viet Cong killed in 24 hours, 30 captured and 307 suspects rounded up. The operation Davy Crockett continued with heavy fire from about 300 Viet Cong. The clash occurred about 10 miles north of Bong Sea near the China Sea, some 280 miles northeast of Saigon. McNamara Orders Partial End to Continuous Bomber Alert

Juveniles Nabbed For Theft Series
Two juveniles aged 16 and 17 were arrested by Frederick City Police for seven break-ins over the past week. Det. Lt. Ellis G. Carty and Det. Sgt. Paul W.
