Ky Says Viet Military To Hold Power For Year
Premier Nguyen Cao Ky stated the military government will remain in power for at least another year to allow time for civilian elections. He warned that if the post election government is neutralist or Communist he and allies will oppose it, claiming the Vietnamese are anti Communist. He spoke at Binh Tuy airbase and projected elections between Sept 35 and Oct 1 to elect an assembly to draft a constitution, followed by a second vote for a civilian government within about a year.
