Protest Razing Market House Over Parking Plan
A mass petition backed by 190 Frederick County residents opposes tearing down part of the rear Market House to expand a 56 space City Hall parking lot. The letter, mailed by Mrs. Lawrence Guyton, references a January deed and notes the petition dates to April with signatures from numerous Frederick and Burkittsville citizens. The effort follows an April 4 action by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen that approved an oral plan for the City Engineer to extend parking around City Hall and the City Opera House.
