Commissioners End Early Closure for County Picnic Tradition
Frederick County commissioners voted to end the 2 pm office closing for the annual county picnic. They justify a pro business stance and note open offices align with private sector hours. The August 3 picnic at Monocacy Pinecliff Park will cost about 4000 dollars with funds from the county budget vending proceeds and dinner tickets. Commissioner Gray opposed the move arguing morale concerns.
