State Abandons Three Charges In Shooting Case
In a surprise move this morning the State's Attorney dropped prosecution on the first count of three indictments charging assault with attempt to maim against John Edward Tibbetts. Three assault and battery charges remain in the jury trial over a Dec. 19 shooting outside Tibbetts diner on U.S. 40 near Hawk Bottom Road four miles west of Frederick.
