Through Hike on Appalachian Trail Continues for Don Demeza
Frederick man Don Demeza has spent two months hiking from Springer Mountain to Harper's Ferry with about 800 miles completed. He began March 1 to tackle the 2,160 mile through hike inspired by A Walk in the Woods and plans to reach Katahdin in Maine, facing snow storms and lean-to shelters while devoting days to walking, eating, and resting. He expects another 1,200 miles and two more pairs of shoes before finishing in mid July.
