Frederick officials eye Freeman Shoe workers transfer
Frederick County officials anticipate 100 to 110 Freeman Shoe workers filing unemployment claims next week and discuss relocating or retraining them. Desalt Duyer and Terry Jacobson note the northern county end needs jobs while DET and JTA arrange training funds and carpools to ease commuting from Emmitsburg. Former employees could take entry level roles in electronics assembly without relocating, with jobs centered near Frederick.
