Acid laden trucks collide on U S 40 near Jughandle
A tractor trailer carrying hydrofluoric acid struck a fertilizer hauler on U S 40 near Jughandle causing drums to burst and fumes. Driver William H Carter of Baltimore was trapped for 30 minutes before rescue. Emerson Bishoff and Harold Fike of Friendsville and others received hospital treatment. charges issued for reckless driving and failing to have tail lights.

87YearOld Driver Crashes Into Parked Car on Patrick Street
An 87 year old man driving a 1952 Plymouth struck a parked unoccupied 1952 Cadillac in the 300 block of West Patrick Street. Frederick City Police report the accident caused 440 dollars in damage. The driver was George H. Johnson of Boyds and the other vehicle was owned by Mrs. George F. Abrecht, a local teacher.

Near Tragedy in Freight Crash on US 40 East of Jaz Bridge
A tractor trailer loaded with hydrofluoric acid and a second truck carrying fertilizer collided on US 40 near Jaz Bridge last night. The cab was crushed after a 25 foot plunge, rescuers freed the driver as acid vapor and fire danger required gas masks and fire crews from Frederick.

PSC Plans Railroad Investigation Into Pennsy Service
