More Farmers Sign Up For Soil Conservation Plan
Officials of the Monocacy River Watershed Council report growing farmer enrollment this spring in a soil conservation program. Chair Solomon L. Hoke of Bachman’s Valley said plans call for county groups in Carroll Frederick and Adams counties to push the program while state engineers draft broader plans to conserve resources and cut pollution across the Monocacy basin. The Inter state Commission on the Potomac Basin is among agencies taking interest as Frederick County prepares to form a local committee and join the council this spring or early summer.
