Illegal Coffee Deals Charged To Bissell
Major General Clayton L. Bissell of the U S Air Force faced charges of illegally dealing in coffee in Germany. His attorney denied the accusation calling it a tempest in a teapot and said the only coffee he sold was in a legal Army barter market. The Air Force noted charges related to acts while he was military and air attaché in London from 1946 to 1948 and said a court martial could be considered after investigation.
