Governor seeks 25 percent raise for state aided hospitals
Annapolis March 28 Governor O Conor proposed increasing state aided hospital payments for free patient care by 25 percent. He said no permanent 1947 provision is ready but urged urgent adjustment based on Health and Welfare reports. He will submit the plan to the Board of Public Works. The increase would lift payments from four to five dollars a day, with concerns some hospitals may be over-earning current appropriations.
