Discharged soldier from Urbana recalls WWII service
Gordon Bowen, son of Mrs. Moliie Poole of Silver Spring and grandson of the late George Wilton Montgomery, recently mustered out from Fort Meade after four years in the Tank Battalion of the 29th Division. He served two years in Germany and the rest in this county, noting loans and guarantees for veterans and urging careful use of postwar loans. Also, county loan totals show Allegany leading with farm and home loans, while Baltimore, Anne Arundel and others posted varied totals.
