Pulsations for dairymen Kenneth Wisner
An IRA gives farmers a dual tool for retirement and tax planning. It can be opened at banks brokerages or insurers with typical fees. Contributions up to 2000 dollars per person or 4000 with a working spouse are possible, and yields are often around nine percent. A strategy suggests paying a spouse from income to allow maximum IRA contributions, reducing taxable income and self employment tax while enabling retirement funds growth. Farmers may use IRA contributions before tax filing deadlines to optimize 1989 income and future retirement security.
