Fair officials discuss ethics in youth livestock shows
At the Maryland Association of Agricultural Fairs and Shows Convention in Gaithersburg, Barney Cosner and state fair officials urged tighter ethics in youth livestock programs. They warned of switching animals, altered birth dates, and drug residues influencing prizes, and called for a national ethics code, zero tolerance for violators, and stronger oversight to restore public trust and focus on learning and sportsmanship.
