Orchard owners told how properly care for trees
A Mary land Agricultural Experiment Station demonstration near Monrovia taught pruning and orchard cultivation for peach and apple trees to about 25 interested locals. Professor Monroe urged careful cultivation and weed control, noted digging under hardpan benefits, and described low tree heads for easier picking. Walker plans 29 acres of apples with interplanted peaches, expecting bearing trees in about three years.
